Jack Vaughn Says Bob Evans Gave Him The Idea To Start A TikTok, Notes He Was Resistant At First
Jack Vaughn recalls Bob Evans telling him to join TikTok.
There aren’t many wrestlers, let alone independent wrestlers, that have reached the level of social media popularity that Jack Vaughn has in recent months.
On TikTok alone, Vaughn currently has over 35,000 followers and has amassed over a million views combining from all of his popular short form content.
While speaking to Cultaholic for a new interview, Vaughn recalled doing a seminar with Bob Evans. Vaughn noted that Evans encouraged him to get on TikTok and how he was resistant to do it at first.
“I’ve known Bob for a while now just through social media and then he was actually doing a seminar at a show that I was on, he made it free for everyone. He was like, ‘Jack, I really like the way you do social media. I really think you need to do more video content, because that’s what’s hot right now.’ He’s like, ‘Specifically, I think you should get on TikTok.’ At the time, I was really resistant to it because with the gimmick, I felt like if there was one thing that the veteran would not do, it would be on Tiktok, but I took his advice and I filmed a couple of things. It was pretty quick, the very first video within like 48 hours had 200,000 views, it happened pretty quickly.”
Currently, Vaughn primarily wrestles for Ohio Valley Wrestling, where is he the promotion’s World Heavyweight Champion.
