Io Shirai Says She Isn’t Dead, But Hates Indi Hartwell After NXT Halloween Havoc
Io Shirai is alive after the scary ladder bump she took at NXT Halloween Havoc 2021.
At Halloween Havoc, Io Shirai and Zoey Stark defended their NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship against Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta and Toxic Attraction’s Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolin.
While Toxic Attraction walked away with the gold, the moment from the match that everybody remembers is Io Shirai crashing from one ladder to another courtesy of Indi Hartwell.
Following concern for her health after the fall, Io Shirai tweeted that she was alive but she now holds a grudge against Indi Hartwell.
I am not dead.
I will always keep getting up to do my best.Just sad that the title is not on my waist…#HalloweenHavoc #WWENXT pic.twitter.com/b6sqoS5eds

Even though Hartwell did not become NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion again, she did complete her goal from last year’s Halloween Havoc.
Last year, she was also trying to knock Io Shirai off of a ladder and prevent her from winning a Ladder Match only last year, Io was able to overcome the presence of Hartwell and defeat Candice LeRae to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
While that grudge now persists, Toxic Attraction now holds all of the Women’s belts in NXT following Halloween Havoc
