Intercontinental Championship Match Set For WWE Fastlane
Another match has been announced for WWE Fastlane.
On Friday, March 12, Big E returned to SmackDown after missing the past two weeks with a Brachial Plexus injury. The Intercontinental Champion was hurt on February 19 when Apollo Crews tossed a set of steel steps onto him as he laid on the ground outside the ring.
One week after the attack, Apollo unveiled his true persona, sharing that his ancestors are Nigerian royalty. On March 5, flanked by his Royal Guard, Crews demanded a rematch for the Intercontinental Championship.
Big E came to the ring angry this evening, calling out Crews, saying that they can fight for the belt right now. Crews, however, didn’t emerge. After Big E had defended the title in an Open Challenge against Sami Zayn, he was jumped from behind by Crews.
Backstage, Crews says that he doesn’t come when people call his name. Instead, it should be the other way around. That said, he does accept the match offer, but at Fastlane. WWE has since made it official.
“I gladly accept your challenge for the Intercontinental Title at #WWEFastlane!”
