Intercontinental Championship Changes Hands On 6/10 WWE SmackDown
And new!
During the June 10 episode of WWE SmackDown, Ricochet put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Gunther. The match came about after Ricochet intervened and saved Drew Gulak from a post-match beatdown from Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser a few weeks back. Gunther, who is on a mission to bring respect back to the mat, did not appreciate Ricochet interfering in his business.
Ricochet had moments during the bout where he fought valiantly, but Gunther dominated their encounter, winning the Intercontinental Championship in the process. This is his first title victory as a member of WWE’s main roster.

Gunther is a former NXT UK Champion and leader of Imperium. He debuted on SmackDown on April 8 and has gone undefeated since then. With his victory, Gunther ends Ricochet’s title reign at 98 days (having won the belt on March 4 from Sami Zayn).
