IMPACT Wrestling Results for 6/9/20 Grace Retains the Knockouts Championship, Deonna Purrazzo Debuts

Good evening Fight Fans and welcome to our coverage for tonight’s edition of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV and Twitch.TV opening with a huge triple threat grudge match between Sami Callihan, Ken Shamrock and Michael Elgin!
– We open the show with a video package recapping last week’s show before we start the show off with our first match on tonight’s show.
Sami Callihan vs Michael Elgin vs Ken Shamrock
Michael sends Ken out of the ring before Sami sends Elgin out and Elgin slams Sami onto the apron before Ken hits a suicide dive that takes them both out. Ken brings Elgin back into the ring before Elgin boots him and hits a missile dropkick before knocking Sami off of the apron and Ken hits an arm drag before Elgin clotheslines both Ken and Sami. Elgin sends Ken into the post before hitting a uranage and a running clothesline in the corner into a falcon arrow for two before whipping Sami into the corner. Elgin and Sami chop each other and exchange forearms before Ken and Sami hit Elgin and Ken suplexes Elgin before Sami and Ken exchange strikes. Sami drops Ken with a sliding forearm for a near fall that Elgin breaks up before Elgin hits Sami with a German suplex and hits a sliding forearm of his own for a two count that Ken breaks up. Ken goes for an ankle lock, but Elgin kicks him away before hitting several DDTs, but Ken is right back up before Elgin goes for an enzuigiri and Ken snatches his ankle and locks in an ankle lock. Elgin rips off the top turnbuckle pad since there’s no rope breaks in a triple threat,
Sami rushing in and stopping Elgin from tapping before Ken puts him in the ankle lock. Sami rolls through and Elgin sends Sami into Ken who goes back first into the exposed turnbuckle before sending Sami out of the ring and Elgin hits the Elgin Bomb for the pin and the win.
Winner: Michael Elgin defeats Ken Shamrock and Sami Callihan via pinfall.
– After the match we go to Josh and Madison who give us a breakdown of the rest of tonight’s show including the future of the IMPACT World Championship as well as a Knockouts Championship match between the champion Jordynne Grace and the challenger Taya Valkyrie before we get a backstage interview with Grace. We then get a graphic for Tasha Steelz versus Susie up next as we go to commercial.
Tasha Steelz w/Kiera Hogan vs Susie
Susie takes Tash down with several side headlock takeovers before Tasha catches Susie with a forearm when she goes for a suicide dive when Tasha regroups with Kiera at ringside. Tasha stomps Susie on the mat before hitting several running moves in the corner and a neckbreaker for two before dropping her with strikes and playing to the camera. Susie rolls Tasha up out of nowhere for two before hitting several shoteis and a Thesz press and Tasha drops her with an enzuigiri before she drops Tasha with a shotei when she’s coming off of the top rope for a near fall. Kiera then gets onto the apron and distracts Susie before Tasha hits her with a cutter for the pin and the win.
Winner: Tasha Steelz defeats Susie via pinfall.
– After the match we go to a backstage interview with Ace Austin where he talks about winning the IMPACT World Championship Number One Contender Tournament before he’s interrupted by Moose and Ace leaves before he’s then interrupted by Hernandez who challenges him to a TNA World title match. We then go outside to see a car pulling up as we go to commercial.
– We come back to this week’s IMPACT+ Moment of the Week before we go backstage to Rhino who’s deep in thought before Rohit Raju walks up and complains to him before Rohit cheap shots him and Rhino chases him off before we see the Knockouts champion getting ready ahead of her title defense later tonight as we go to commercial.
Johnny Swinger & Chris Bey vs Cousin Jake & Willie Mack
Johnny backs Willie into the corner and hits him with right hands before Willie backs him into the corner and Jake tags in who drops Johnny with a right hand and sends him face first into the top turnbuckle before he and Willie chain together tags and offense. Chris knees Willie from the apron before Johnny hits a knee drop and chokes Willie before tagging in Chris who kicks Willie in the ribs and chops him in the corner. Johnny chokes Willie in the corner before Willie comes back with a knee lift and tags in Jake who clotheslines both Swinger and Bey before slamming Chris onto Johnny. Jake then goes for a spear and goes right into the post as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Jake being doubled up on by Bey and Swinger before running them both over and tagging in Willie who drops them with right hands and hits a Samoan drop into a double standing moonsault for a near fall that Chris breaks up.Jake sends Chris over the top and to the outside before Johnny goes to suplex Willie and gets hit with a stunner for the pin and the win.
Winner: Willie Mack and Cousin Jake defeat Johnny Swinger and Chris Bey via pinfall.
– After the match Bey and Swinger attack Willie and Jake before they’re saved by the returning Cody Deaner who clears the ring before we go to Rosemary and John E. Bravo at the bar before they’re interrupted by the return of Taya Valkyrie ahead of her title challenge in our main event as we go back to the ring where Scott D’Amore addresses the future of the IMPACT World Championship before being interrupted by the new number one contender for the title, Ace Austin. Ace tries to get Scott to give him the title before they’re then interrupted by Michael Elgin who defeated both Callihan and Shamrock earlier tonight and says that he’s the rightful champion before they’re interrupted by the return of Eddie Edwards who still holds the Call Your Shot trophy. Scott then gets into a heated argument with Ace before deciding that no one will get the title and Tessa Blanchard will defend the IMPACT World Championship in a fatal five way at Slammiversary before Trey comes out of nowhere and hits Ace with a springboard missile dropkick before all four men brawl in the ring as we go back to commercial.
– We come back to Cancel Culture who come out to the ring before Jake’s match with Crazzy Steve.
Crazzy Steve vs Jake Crist w/Cancel Culture
Steve is in control early before Jake injures Steve’s arm and starts focusing on it before locking in an armbar and Steve gets to the ropes for the break. Steve comes back with back elbows and a clothesline for two before Steve gets distracted by Joey and Jake drops him with a flurry of kicks for the pin and the win.
Winner: Jake Crist defeats Crazzy Steve via pinfall.
– After the match we go backstage to the see the Knockouts champion making her way out from the back ahead of her title defense up next in our main event as we go to commercial.
– We come back to Josh and Madison who talk about Slammiversary next month before the fatal five way for the IMPACT World Championship is formally announced as well as Rohit Raju versus Rhino and Moose versus Hernandez for the TNA Championship and Ace Austin and Eddie Edwards in a Street Fight for next week’s show.
Knockouts Championship Match
Jordynne Grace (c) vs Taya Valkyrie w/Rosemary & John. E Bravo
Grace rushes Taya before the referee backs her off and Taya gets out of the ring before Grace hits all of them with a suicide dive at ringside as we go to commercial.
We come back to Grace in control, getting a two count off of a backbreaker before Taya comes back with forearms and an open hand palm strike in the corner. Grace comes back with a belly to belly suplex for two before dropping Taya with a forearm and she rolls out of the ring where Rosemary and John try to help her before Taya gets back in and knees Grace on the apron. Taya plays to the camera before climbing to the top where Jordynne meets her and knocks her off of the top rope and down onto the floor as we go back to commercial.
We come back to the two outside where Taya sends Jordynne face first into the steps and back into the ring for two before kicking her in the head and choking her in the ropes. Taya hits a running hip attack in the corner into a meteora for two before locking in a rear chin lock and the champ gets back to her feet before Taya smashes her face into the top turnbuckle and sets her on top of it. Taya hits Jordynne with a forearm and goes for a superplex before Jordynne counters into a powerbomb off of the top and Jordynne hits several scoop slams when Taya hits her with forearms. Jordynne sends Taya into the post before hitting a sliding back elbow in the corner into a Vader bomb for a near fall before Taya counters the Grace Driver. Taya spears Grace for a near fall before hitting a pop-up knee and Jordynne counters The Road to Valhalla before hitting her with clotheslines and a lariat. Grace then locks in a choke and forces Taya to tap for the win.
Winner: Jordynne Grace retains her Knockouts Championship by defeating Taya Valkyrie via submission.
– After the match Deonna Purrazzo comes out to the ring and faces off with Grace before she tries to shake her hand and Deonna locks in a Fujiwara armbar before posing over the belt as we go off the air.
