IMPACT World Championship Match Set For Slammiversary
The fate of the IMPACT World Championship has been decided.
On tonight’s episode of IMPACT, Scott D’Amore was alone in the ring set to make an announcement on the status of the title. Ace Austin, the No. 1 Contender to the title being held by Tessa Blanchard, came out to try and get D’Amore to crown him as the new champion given that Blanchard is still in Mexico.
Afterwards, Michael Elgin, followed by the returning Eddie Edwards, arrived to make their case, saying Austin should earn the opportunity to become a world champion. That’s when D’Amore announced that Blanchard will defend the IMPACT World Championship against Austin, Elgin, Edwards and Trey in a five-way match at the Slammiversary pay-per-view taking place on July 18.

Blanchard has not been in action in recent weeks due to the travel ban as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. This will be Blanchard’s first title defense since the February 8 episode of IMPACT.
