The IIconics Share That They Have A Lot Of Creative Input For Their Promos
Peyton and Billie have free range to a certain degree.
Peyton Royce and Billie Kay have known each other since they were teenagers, went to wrestling school together, worked the independent scene in Australia and eventually made it to NXT where they were paired together and now they are the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Kay and Royce first captured the titles last month at WrestleMania 35 in a Fatal 4-Way tag team match.
The IIconics have made their signature pose a part of their act and they revealed that they also have a lot of creative input in regard to their promos. Billie Kay and Peyton joined the Gorilla Position podcast while WWE was in London for the RAW and SmackDown television tapings and they spoke about how lucky they are to be able to have room to let their ideas flow creatively.
Peyton: “We actually do, and we’re very lucky.” She said of the creative input. “That’s the thing; our banter is how we talk and if we’re given, ‘This is your line and that’s my line’. This and that, it doesn’t come off organically, but when it’s just us talking… A lot of the time, we put into our talking segments, inside jokes that we make in the car on the way to Yakima.”
Billie: “What makes us laugh, we just do, because then it’s just this genuine, organic personality coming out.” She said.
The IIconics recently did an interview during-which they addressed the rumors of Sasha Banks and Bayley throwing a temper tantrum after WrestleMania and to read their responses, check out Fightful’s published article about their comments.
