Hulk Hogan’s Rookie Mistake From NWO’s Debut; D-Generation X On Wanting A Kliq Faction | Fight Size

Here is your fight size update for Wednesday, July 7, 2021:

– To celebrate NWO week on WWE Network, Hulk Hogan spoke to Sports Illustrated and revealed the one “rookie mistake” he feels he made on that day in 1996.

“I immediately worried it was going to be an angle alert,” Hogan says. “I was thinking that as soon as I was headed to the ring, telling myself I was an idiot for doing it. Those boots were really slippery, too, and I think you’ll see me grab the rope before I take a step and hit those leg drops on Randy. Had I been wearing my wrestling boots, it would have been a much bigger production. It was such a rookie move on my part.”

Sports Illustrated also interviewed DX, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H, who opened up about the NWO’s influence on DX. Hunter revealed that Kevin Nash wanted to form a Kliq faction in WWE.

“We always wanted to put a group together here,” says Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who works now as WWE’s executive vice president of global talent strategy and development, as well as the leader of the NXT brand. “There was a lot of talk within the group about it. Kevin wanted to call us The Sportsmen, where we all wore sports coats. I’m not sure I wanted to do that part, but we all wanted to have a group.”

“Kevin and Scott leaving made me want to work with Hunter even more,” Michaels says. “And we had Chyna, and there was chemistry there. Then we started doing DX.”

– Brody King recently spoke to Fanbyte about his thoughts on “The Forbidden Door”

“Absolutely. The Forbidden Door term is kind of ridiculous because we are in a fan service industry, and I think not doing that stuff is a disservice to the fans. As much as we can cross over and have interpromotional matches and have these ‘dream matches,’ we’re just making the fans happier and putting more money in everyone’s pockets. I’m all for everything.”

A STATEMENT FROM THE CFL REGARDING THE XFL

TORONTO — The Canadian Football League (CFL) released the following statement on Wednesday:

“Our talks with the XFL, exploring the potential for collaboration and innovation, have been positive and constructive.

While we remain open to finding new ways to work together in the future, we and our XFL counterparts have jointly decided to not pursue any formal arrangements at this time.

We at the CFL are now squarely focused on preparing for August 5th and the start of our 2021 regular season, which will culminate December 12 with the playing of the 108th Grey Cup in Hamilton, Ontario.

We are looking forward to this year and a bright future for our league.”

WrestleZone interviewed Henry Winkler about his role in The One And Only.

“I trained a few weeks before we started filming and then several nights a week during filming so I was ready for the routine for that particular day of shooting,” Henry noted. LeBell, along with Roddy Piper and Chavo Guerrero, all had roles as Schmidt’s in-ring enemies, but Winkler praises the amount of consideration each wrestler took when it came to working with him.

“And these guys, Piper and all the guys that I wrestled with were so supportive and so careful and they took such good care of me so that I would not be hurt because no matter what, it was rough and tumble existence.” And sure enough, Henry suffered zero physical harm, but did incur an ailment every wrestler or actor encounters more than once during their careers. “My pride—my pride was injured if I missed a move.”

CM Punk is featured alongside his dog, Larry in association with PAWSChicago for their “Underdog to Wonderdog” campaign.
