Hulk Hogan: I Got Bullied For Having A Big Head And Being Fat As A Kid

Hulk Hogan reflects on being bullied as a kid.

On Mar. 7 in Tampa, WWE held a press conference officially announcing Tampa as the host city for WrestleMania 36. After the press conference, WWE Superstars Hulk Hogan, Bayley, and Titus O’Neil went over to the Garcia Salesian Boys & Girls Club for a Be A STAR anti-bullying event.

Speaking to Jim Varsalonne, Hogan discussed being bullied when he was younger.

“It’s really cool to be here because when I talk to boys clubs it’s mainly about accountability, and stepping up and owning it, good or bad, but today is a little bit different subject. It’s about bullying,” said Hogan. “And so many of us, such as me having the largest head in elementary school, and I was so fat when I was a kid, I’d go to the beach and I was the only one that didn’t take my shirt off. I got bullied a lot, and some of these kids don’t realize this, is a lot of the other WWE Superstars got bullied. So, we got a lot in common. So, to share our stories and let these kids know they’re not in it alone, is a major deal, brother.”

Hogan was released from WWE in 2015 after tapes leaked of him using racist language. He was brought back to the company in 2018, making his first television appearance at Crown Jewel in November.
