Hikaru Shida Comments On Missing AEW’s Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament
Hikaru Shida was surprised to learn that she had been injured.
On the May 13 episode of AEW Rampage, Tony Schiavone informed the crowd that Hikaru Shida sustained an injury during her Philly Street Fight with Serena Deeb and would no longer be able to compete in the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament. In her place, Kris Statlander would step in and face Red Velvet in the quarterfinals.
Shida took to Twitter after the announcement and replied with, “What?” She continued on, saying that she has already had four matches since the aforementioned bout though is somehow injured. That said, she is happy for Statlander and is looking forward to enjoying some much-needed vacation time.
Well…. I already had 4 matches after the street fight and just finished the greatest fighting musical show.
But I seem to have been injured…
Japanese wrestling is nothing for them. I’m so sorry.
And sorry couldn’t be in the tournament too.— HIKARU SHIDA 志田 光 (@shidahikaru) May 13, 2022
I’m glad from my heart that Kris is in the tournament now.
And I’m gonna try to enjoy sudden holidays in Japan because it has been a while before I had.
Be positive!— HIKARU SHIDA 志田 光 (@shidahikaru) May 13, 2022
