‘Hell In A Cell’ Fight Size Update: WWE’s Injury Update On Jeff Hardy, Brock Lesnar Makes His Return, Becky Lynch Is Champion, More
Here’s your Fight Size wrestling Update for WWE’s ‘Hell In A Cell’ PPV.
– Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton opened the ‘Hell In A Cell’ PPV. There was a point during the match that Randy Orton stuck a screw driver and grinded it through Jeff’s open ear-hole.
* Jeff Hardy whipped Randy Orton with a studded belt and that caused Randy to bleed from his back. The belt also caused Randy to have a piece of flesh hanging from his thigh.
Jeff Hardy went through a table after hanging off the top of the cell and following his match with Randy Orton, WWE provided an injury update on “The Charismatic Enigma”.
– Becky Lynch defeated Charlotte Flair to become SmackDown Live Women’s Champion. Following the match Charlotte tried to offer Becky a handshake but Becky denied it and told Charlotte that she was no longer going to be stealing her spotlight.
– Some miscommunication between Aiden English and Rusev cost them the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships on the ‘Hell In A Cell’ kickoff show.
– The WWE Championship match between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe resulted in a confusing finish. While AJ had Samoa Joe’s shoulders pinned on the mat, at the same time Joe had AJ secured in a “Coquina Clutch” that AJ seemingly tapped out to but the referee only saw Joe’s shoulder’s pinned and counted Joe down for the count.
* Samoa Joe then went to the back and approached the SmackDown Live GM Paige and made her aware that at WWE Super Show-Down when he faces AJ Styles for the WWE Championship for a third time that the rules need to be tossed out of the window.
– Ronda Rousey had her first successful title defense as she defeated Alexa Bliss with an armbar to retain the RAW Women’s Championship.
– The main event of ‘Hell In A Cell’ saw Roman Reigns defend his WWE Universal Championship against Braun Strowman with Mick Foley as the Special Guest Referee.
* Dolph Ziggler, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Drew McIntyre got involved in the match.
* Former WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE programming for the first time since losing the Universal Title to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam last month. Lesnar delivered F5’s to both Reigns and Strowman and the ‘Hell In A Cell’ match was declared a no contest.
