Hangman Page Details Riding Hunter Horse Helmsley At AEW All Out
Hangman Page made a grand entrance at AEW All Out, coming in on a horse for his AEW World Title match against Chris Jericho.
The horse, dubbed Hunter Horse Helmsley by Hangman, became close personal friends with Hangman and speaking on AEW Unrestricted, he detailed how the two were able to bond.
“‘I wanna ride in on a horse,'” said Hangman when asked how he pitched the idea. “I tried to figure out where a performing horse comes from because certainly, I can’t ride one of my dad’s horses. I looked up rodeos and rodeo promoters in the Chicago area, found a guy in Wisconsin and we got to talking. He owned a horse named Stoney [shoot name]. He was in some of the Batman movies and TV shows in Chicago. He’s done a lot of work. He knew what the deal was. Compared to a lot of things he had done before, All Out was a tame night for him. I drove up and hung out with Stoney a couple of days before All Out. He showed up early in the morning, we did some run-throughs and I rode a horse. Stoney was more afraid during the rehearsal than the actual show. By the time we had done a few rehearsals, he figured ‘no one is going to mess with me. This is cool.’ He got his footing, they laid down some padding. It was raining that day so he was nervous about walking in the rain. So getting inside and then figuring out that it was okay, he was cool.”
Sadly, Hunter Horse Helmsley passed away less than two months after joining Hangman at All Out. Hangman revealed he sent the owner a gift box following his passing.
Speaking to Fightful in November, Hangman remembered his good horse friend and how he was just getting over the loss. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
