Gunther Surpasses Randy Savage, Becomes Third Longest Reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion

Another milestone for Gunther. 

Gunther has now hit 414 days as WWE Intercontinental Champion, giving him the third-longest reign in WWE history. Gunther has surpassed “Macho Man” Randy Savage, who held the title for 413 days. 

The current record is held by Honky Tonk Man, who had a reign of 453 days. Pedro Morales is second at 424 days. 

Gunther won the title on the June 10, 2022 episode of WWE SmackDown when he defeated Ricochet. He has made 12 successful TV/PLE defenses of the title.
