Gunther is officially the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion of all time, holding the title for a record 454 days.
Gunther surpasses Honky Tonk Man, who held the title for 453 days as recognized by WWE. Honky Tonk Man’s run started on June 2, 1987 (aired on June 13) and lasted until August 29, 1988.

The reign of Gunther started on the June 10, 2022 episode of WWE SmackDown when he defeated Ricochet. He’s made 15 successful title defenses during his run. His latest victory came on Monday’s WWE Raw when he defeated Chad Gable.
Gunther has defeated the likes of Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Braun Strowman during his run.
