Here is your post-WWE/AEW fight size update for Friday, April 29, 2022.

WWE SmackDown

– In the opening match of the night, Drew McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn inside of a steel cage.

– On the newest edition of Happy Talk, Happy Corbin was set to smash up the Andre The Giant Memorial Trophy, when Madcap Moss appeared and took it back from his former friend.

– Ricochet defeated Shanky to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Jinder Mahal berated Shanky for the loss after the bell, but the seven-footer stormed out on Jinder.

– Raquel Rodriguez picked up a convincing victory in her first match on SmackDown.

– Gunther said that inside the ring, respect will be taken.

– After a brawl broke out during the Tag Team Title Unification contract signing, the match at WrestleMania Backlash was changed to a six-man tag to include Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre who got involved in the skirmish.

– After being defeated by Naomi, Shayna Baszler and Natalya attacked the Women’s Tag Team Champions. The two teams will battle for the belts on the May 13 episode of SmackDown.

– After a pair of matches that saw Xavier Woods defeat Ridge Holland and Sheamus defeat Kofi Kingston, it was announced that New Day would face Sheamus and Holland in a Tables Match next Friday.

Charlotte Flair was not able to beat the time set by Ronda Rousey in their beat-the-clock challenge. Rousey scored her win over Shotzi, while Aliyah was able to last the time limit against Flair. Charlotte would take out her frustrations on Drew Gulak who served as timekeeper for the matches.

AEW Rampage

– The show started with Darby Allin defeating Swerve Strickland to qualify for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Ricky Starks tried to interfere and cost Swerve the match but he was chased away by Sting.

– Jade Cargill’s newly named Baddies faction (herself, Red Velvet, and Kiera Hogan) defeated Trish Adora, Willow Nightingale, and Skye Blue in Trios action.

– Keith Lee defeated Colten Gunn. Backstage, Gunn Club was approached by The Acclaimed who said that they never lose when they team together. They were asked if they want to scissor with The Acclaimed but said they need to talk to daddy (Billy Gunn) first.

– Tony Nese attacked HOOK and Danhausen during their in-ring encounter, but Nese was suplexed away by HOOK, though Danhausen thought it was the work of one of his curses. As the crowd chanted HOOKHAUSEN, Danhausen extended his hand to HOOK but was pushed away.

– In the main event, Samoa Joe defeated Trent Beretta to retain the ROH TV Title. After the match, Jay Lethal came out with Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh and brawled with Joe and Best Friends.
