Grayson Waller Would Love To Be On MTV The Challenge, But Is Currently Focused On Wrestling

Grayson Waller discusses potentially appearing on MTV The Challenge.

Before he entered the world of WWE, Waller competed on Australian Survivor, lasting 26 days on the show. Waller has had ties with the Godfather of MTV The Challenge Mark Long on NXT television with Long showing up to support Waller in his wrestling quests.

Speaking to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Waller was asked if he would ever consider appearing on MTV The Challenge.

“I won’t give too much away, but there were some initial talks and little  whispers going around about some of the seasons. I love that show I say that all the time. That’s my favorite show of all time. I’ve watched for a long, long time. I had two goals when I got to my 20’s was be on the Challenge and be in the WWE. I’m 50% there, lad. Right now I’m focused on what I’m doing here. I love wrestling. It’s what I want to do. I want to be NXT Champion at New Year’s Evil next week on USA. I want to do that. I want to headline these shows in Charlotte, February 4th, [and] Stand & Deliver [in the] Staples Center. I want to go to the main roster, I want to take on the best, I want to show I can compete. I have things to do first. A lot of these Challenge guys, they have nothing else. They literally sit and home and wait, begging for the call because they have nothing else happening in their lives. So I’ve got big things to do before I look that direction, but it’s something I would love to do though,” he said.

The Challenge and wrestling have had plenty of synergy over the years with The Miz being one of the greatest Challenge competitors to ever appear on the show and returning to host past seasons and reunion specials. Lio Rush competed on the Double Agents season and CM Punk competed on a Champs vs. Pros season.

Waller challenged Bron Breakker for the NXT Championship at NXT New Years Evil, but came up short in his effort to win the title. Fans can find full results from the show by clicking here.
