Goldust Set To Be A Free Agent Soon

Goldust isn’t a free agent — at least according to him.

Dustin Rhodes, better known as Goldust, could be out on the market if a new report from Pro Wrestling Sheet is true. According to the report, several sources stated that Goldust’s contract recently expired and he’s waiting out the 90-day non-compete portion of the contract. However, his deal would be up in May.

May is a crucial time on the calendar as Goldust’s brother Cody is still without an opponent for All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing show on Memorial Day weekend. There have been several teases on AEW programming, with Cody’s seamstress asking if she should stay away from the color Gold when putting together his gear. Dustin did admit last year that Cody asked him to do “All In,” but WWE wouldn’t allow it.

It’s worth noting that 90-day no-compete clauses aren’t always included in deals that expire, but it is the standard for those who have asked for their releases or are cut by the company — for example Tye Dillinger.

Goldust has been sidelined since last year with double knee surgery, and word is that he had done some scouting for WWE at a recent Invicta FC event. In a social media post earlier this year, Goldust admitted that his 30-year career was coming to an end.

However, shortly after the report emerged. Goldust took to Twitter to deny the claims, saying that he’s still under contract. It should be noted that the original report actually stated he’s still technically under contract.

I guess “that settles that.”

Fighful will look to find out more about this situation. You can see our contract update article at this link.
