Goldberg Sure Hopes His Son Gage Is Not A Wrestler

Bill Goldberg does not want his son to become a professional wrestler. 

Bill Goldberg was one of the most popular wrestlers of his era. While it’s no secret he didn’t grow up with a massive fondness for the industry, Goldberg took pro wrestling by storm in the late 90s and parlayed that success into movie opportunities and more. 

Later in his career, he would even return to the squared circle. One of Goldberg’s massive reasons for his 2016 return to WWE and the World of Wrestling was so that his son, Gage, could see him actively compete. 

Speaking on the Nothing Left Unsaid podcast, Goldberg revealed that his son is not interested in following his footsteps and he personally has no interest in seeing his son become a professional wrestler.

“I sure hope not. If there is wrestling in his future, I have to be his agent. Nobody is going to like that. The fact is, yes, it is nice to have that as a feather in your cap, something you can fall back on. It’s not as if his dad was a no-name goofy wrestler who didn’t make an impact. My son wants to be the antithesis of me. Growing up as my son presents a lot of challenges. The one thing he has been true to since he’s been old enough to realize it is that he’s his own man. He’s earned his stripes on his own. He doesn’t want to follow in my footsteps. He wants to destroy them and make his own. That hurts sometimes, but I’m appreciative of it,” said Goldberg.

Gage Goldberg did take part in one WWE storyline, being attacked by Bobby Lashley during his dad’s WWE championship match against Lashley at the 2021 WWE SummerSlam.
