Anthony Stone To Be Released From Hospital After In-Ring Injury; GoFundMe Set Up For Medical Expenses

Independent wrestler Anthony Stone suffered a broken collarbone, two collapsed lungs, and four broken ribs in a match over the weekend. A GoFundMe has been set up to help cover his medical expenses. As of this writing, Stone has now raised over $4,000.

Beyond Wrestling confirmed that Stone is being released from the hospital today, Jan. 31.

Professional wrestler Anthony Stone, known by his friends and family as Nick, suffered a number of injuries during a professional wrestling match on Sunday, January 27th in Philadelphia, PA. His opponent landed on his head, neck, shoulder, and chest during a mistimed maneuver in the opening moments of the contest. Nick, who traveled alone to the event from New England, was taken to the nearest emergency room where he was eventually diagnosed with a broken collar bone, two collapsed lungs, and four broken ribs.

Nick is a very proud family man, and although he is lucky to have health insurance, he will be forced to spend at least a week away from home as he recovers in the hospital. When he is finally released, his wife will have to make the trek down to Philly to bring Nick and his car back to New England. His six children will need supervision during this period of time, and there are no guarantees that Nick will be able to go back to work to provide for his family until he is fully healed, which could be as long as three months.

Nick is a great athlete, but unfortunately accidents can happen in the ring. We are asking the wrestling community to come together during this trying period for him and his family. Nick in no way, shape, or form wants any sort of handout, but this support will go a long way in helping him and his family until “Hardcore Jesus” is back on his feet. All donations will go towards any medical expenses not covered by insurance and to help Nick and his family keep food on the table until he is medically cleared to return to work.

Even if you are unable to make a donation, anything you can do to help spread the word will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
