Gina DeLucia Receives Developmental Contract Offer From WWE
Another name impressed WWE officials at the Dallas tryouts.
During WrestleMania week in Dallas, WWE held a tryout open to current and recently graduated college athletes.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Gina DeLucia received a developmental contract offer from the company. DeLucia is a former cheerleader.
“When I was younger, I was into gymnastics, and I think that kind of started the base of my athleticism,” she said. “Of course in CrossFit too, just making me more of a powerful and explosive athlete, and also working on my conditioning so I can breathe really well and have that fitness base I’ve built over the last few years.”
She graduated Ole Miss in 2020 and began competing internationally in CrossFit.
“I saw that WWE was seeking out new talent. They were looking for athletes who didn’t have any wrestling background, and also looking for performers. With my background, I love to train and love to perform, so I thought it was a perfect fit,” she said.
DeLucia was in attendance for WrestleMania 38.
It is unknown when she will report to the WWE Performance Center.
