General Adnan (Adnan Al-Kaissy) Passes Away At The Age Of 84
General Adnan, real name Adnan Al-Kaissy, has passed away at the age of 84. The news was first broke by legendary announcer Ken Resnick on Facebook.
Adnan is most known for his time in the WWF/WWWF, where he held the World Tag Team Championships with Chief Jay Strongbow and was a manager for Sgt. Slaughter. His career in the company was significant, as he was the first Iraqi to compete in a WWF/WWWF ring. Adnan also spent time in the AWA and the NWA.
After a 30+ year career in wrestling, Adnan retired from the ring in 1998. Later on that year, he went on to form his own promotion, the World All-Star Wrestling Alliance, with Ken Patera. The promotion held their last event in 2000.
In 2005, Adnan released an autobiography titled ‘The Sheik of Baghdad: Tales of Celebrity and Terror from Pro Wrestling’s General Adnan’. Adnan was featured as a playable character in WWE 2K15 and WWE 2K16.
Fightful would like to send condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Adnan during this troubling time.
