GCW Owner Brett Lauderdale Would Be Happy For Nick Gage If He Signed With A Bigger Company
Game Changer Wrestling has carved out a big role on the Independent scene with their unique events and hardcore fanbase.
Nick Gage is not only the reigning GCW World Champion, he is the most popular wrestler on the roster. Gage has been a GCW staple since the company rebranded from Jersey Championship Wrestling as the first official GCW event was entitled GCW Nick Gage Invitational Ultraviolent Tournament.
With Gage’s increasing popularity, GCW owner Brett Lauderdale was asked on The Bussiness of the Business podcast if he’s concerned about Gage getting an offer from a bigger company.
“I don’t worry about it because, at the end of the day, I want to see him succeed and so does everyone on our team and all the fans. Would it be weird if someday there was a situation where he said, ‘this is my last show’? Yeah, that would be weird. Who knows how we would deal with that. It would be crazy to think that would happen, but realistically speaking, maybe it could happen and it’s going to happen. We can’t look at that as a bad thing, we would have to see that as a major win for him and all of us. The fact that a guy like him, who was sitting in a prison cell with no hope is now under contract making a large amount of money to do what he loves to do. I could never wish against that, I could only be happy for him if it happens,” said Lauderdale.
While it is unknown if Gage will ever go to a bigger company, he is currently involved in feuds with AEW wrestler Jon Moxley and IMPACT wrestler Matt Cardona.
Elsewhere during the podcast, Lauderdale discussed how he’s able to secure wrestlers from bigger companies to come to GCW. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
