Frankie Kazarian Shares His Fondest Memory Of Killer Kawolski, And His Secret To Staying In Shape At The Age Of 40

Kazarian is the latest guest of Ring Of Honor’s ten question series.

18-year veteran of the pro wrestling game Frankie Kazarian has competed for a number of promotions and companies where he has captured championships and made statements during his time in those respective companies and promotions. Kazarian began his career in the sport in the late 90’s and was trained by WWF Hall Of Famer Killer Kowalski.

Killer Kowalski is known for his many accomplishments in the ring but is also known to have trained many big names in the profession at his school in Massachusetts including: Triple H, Chyna, Tommaso Ciampa, Perry Saturn and other wrestlers who went on to become successful. Kazarian was one of those to be trained by Killer Kawolski and during an interview with ROHWrestling.com Kazarian shared his fondest memory of the late Walter Kawolski.

“Trying to condense all the great lessons that Walter taught me is impossible. He always reminded me to believe in myself and that you cannot stop talent. He would also say, ‘Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear,’ which is advice I use in everyday life to this day.” Kazarian said. “My favorite memories would be going to eat with him. I’d go to church with him before wrestling class on Sundays, which he really enjoyed, and any time I took a road trip with him it was an adventure. Mostly because I’d drive and he’d fall asleep and I would have no clue where I was going.”

At the age of 40 Frankie Kazarian is in top-notch shape. The former 5-time TNA X Division Champion shared how he is able to maintain the physical condition he is in after the mileage he has put on his body over his career.

“There’s no secret when it comes to fitness. It’s drive, discipline, determination and consistency.” He said. “Doing what we do means sacrificing a lot, including free time. But you have to invest in yourself physically. Working out has to become part of you. For me, I have years of trial and error for what works for me and what doesn’t personally. It’s a matter of being smart with eating and supplementation at all times.” Frankie continued, “I always make time to train on the road. The way I see it, there’s someone somewhere who, for whatever reason, cannot physically do what they’d like. They’d give anything to have the ability to work out or train. So I don’t take that for granted and always try to work harder than I did the day before.”

Frankie Kazarian also revealed the most embarrassing moment of his career, and dove into the musical side of his life as well. To read the full interview, head over to ROHWrestling.com.
