Frank The Clown Recalls ‘Trainwreck’ Match Against David Arquette And RJ City
Frank The Clown has gone from front row fan to on-screen performer, finding a role for himself as the manager of Warrior Wrestling World Champion KC Navarro and other members of the FTC LLC.
Frank has also stepped into the ring, although his first foray in the ring was an admitted “trainwreck.”
Speaking to Jeremy Lambert & Joel Pearl on In The Weeds, Frank reflected on teaming with James Ellsworth against David Arquette & RJ City at Warrior Wrestling 2 in September 2018.
“That was Frank The Clown’s first-ever professional wrestling match. That was 2018. It was the same week as All In. I think it was the largest crowd in Warrior Wrestling history. Rey Mysterio was on that show. The card, if you go back and look at it, is pretty insane. Frank The Clown and James Ellsworth against David Arquette and RJ City. If you watch the documentary, ‘You Cannot Kill David Arquette,’ David told the whole story of coming back to wrestling to earn respect and redeem himself for ruining the wrestling business 20 years prior by winning the World Heavyweight Championship in WCW. Unfortunately, Frank The Clown, he did some training, but maybe wasn’t fully ready for this bout. David Arquette did wind up beating Frank The Clown. I have the wonderful badge of honor that David Arquette pinned me in his second match back. I was his first victory in his publicity stunt comeback tour for the documentary. The match was, in layman’s terms, a trainwreck. Frank The Clown did have many more maneuvers to break out, just didn’t get the opportunity. I blame James Ellsworth. We don’t see much of him anymore, there is a reason why. It was a great night, it didn’t end well for us, but it was a learning experience. That’s all that counts. Frank The Clown has not forgiven David Arquette. RJ City, not a bad guy. No heat there,” he said.
Frank has found more success as a manager as KC Navarro will headline Warrior Wrestling 30 against Matt Cardona.
