The event took place on March 29, 1987 at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan. The event was headlined by Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant for the WWF Championship. In addition, the show also featured Ricky Steamboat vs. Macho Man Randy Savage for the Intercontinental Championship. Other notable names to compete at WrestleMania 3 were Bret Hart, Roddy Piper, Harley Race, Davey Boy Smith, The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff.
This isn’t the first time a television network has aired a past WrestleMania event. In the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 36, ESPN aired WrestleManias 30, 32 and 36.
