Fight Size Update: New Japan Reportedly Talking To Goldberg, Impact Star Fired, Updated Mixed Match Challenge Numbers & More!

Welcome to your Thursday morning Fight Size Update for January 18!

– Above, you see footage from the summit between Sami Callihan and Konnan, along with commentary from the involved parties.

– Both Sports Illustrated and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted last night that Goldberg has been contacted by New Japan officials, who have interest in bringing him in for big shows. If it happens at all, it doesn’t seem to be anytime soon, as he was just confirmed to be a part of WWE’s 2018 Hall of Fame and people usually sign short term contracts when accepting.

– An update regarding Mixed Match Challenge numbers. The show now has 1.2 million views as of this writing.

– Around the ring with Madison Rayne:

– Hania the Huntress, who worked the last two Impact tapings, was fired during the most recent tapings in Orlando this past week. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported it was due to her refusing to lose against Su Yung in a 90 second squash.

– Sasha Banks was on Hot Ones last night eating, well, something hot:

– In addition to Kenny Omega, Jay White and Toa Henare have been confirmed for the New Japan Australia shows next month.

– WWE has photos of their new signees War Machine, Ricochet and Candice LeRae here.

– The winners of the Tokyo Sports Awards took a group photo at the awards ceremony recently. Tetsuya Naito, Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada were among the honorees:

– With Konnan no longer with the Crash, the company's relationship with Impact is pretty much over. Impact still has working deals with NOAH and AAA, as they brought in Taiji Ishimori and El Hijo Del Fantasma as part of their last tapings. Meanwhile, the Crash recently announced a relationship with Dragon Gate for shows later this year.
