Fight-size Daily Wrestling Update: Bray Wyatt Wants The Rock, Axel Wants Lesnar, WWE Superstar’s New Finisher, More

– The rumors that the WWE contacted Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio and Goldberg regarding the brand split are false.

– Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon did not appear on this week’s Monday Night Raw as advertised. This has become something of a habit for WWE, as Shane McMahon hasn’t appeared on several advertised shows.

– EVOLVE has signed Cody Rhodes to face Chris Hero at EVOLVE 67 im Brooklyn on August 20, and Zack Sabre Jr., for EVOLVE 66 in Joppa, MD. Hero was on Cody Rhodes’ post-WWE checklist that he released.

– Adam Rose is launching his own Podcast soon, titled “Rosenuts.”

– Cody Rhodes will be Ric Flair’s first guest on Ric Flair’s MLW Podcast.

– Rhyno returned to NXT on NXT TV this week. 

– The WWE has removed the documentary portion of Brock Lesnar’s upcoming DVD, instead opting to just splice in segments between the matches.

– Darren Young started using his new mentor Bob Backlund’s finisher, the crossface chickenwing. Young used it on last week’s episode of WWE Main Event

– Joey Ryan posted on Twitter that he personally outsold TNA’s entire brand on Pro Wrestling Tees. The Young Bucks mentioned that they sold more shirts than Stone Cold Steve Austin. It’s worth noting that TNA only has “TNA” shirts on PWT, not individual stars.

– Former WWE and WCW talent Jimmy Wang Yang was backstage at Monday’s Raw in Columbus, Ohio. He indicated that he had a meeting at the event.

– There are rumors that former ECW and WWE talent Tajiri has signed a contract to return to the WWE in some capacity after the Cruiserweight Classic, but we’ve not confirmed as much.

– Lana and Rusev will have two wedding dates, one being on July 29th in America, and the second being September 2nd in Bulgaria.

– Casting has started for the fourth season of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge show on CMT. You can apply by going to BrokenSkullCasting.com.

– Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc. has an interview up with the recently released Rich Brennan 

– Alberto Del Rio will be touring India on behalf of the WWE this week.

– Curtis Axel is posturing for a match with Brock Lesnar. Axel helped both Lesnar and The Rock get into ring shape for their WWE returns.

This week’s Raw viewership was at 2.658 million viewers, down from last week’s 3.093 million viewers. The show was hampered by being on Independence Day. On the contrary, TNA Impact did some of it’s best numbers on Pop TV, getting 410,000 viewers.

-WWE has signed a new deal with Boom! Studios to create graphic novels and comic books.

– Bray Wyatt stated on ESPN this week that he wants to face The Rock at WrestleMania 33.
