Exclusive: Sonjay Dutt Says Impact Wants To Regain Consumer Confidence

Sonjay Dutt says Impact Wrestling is trying to regain consumer confidence.

Sonjay Dutt has been involved with Impact Wrestling for fourteen years. In that time, the company has had more than a few names and owners. In an interview on Fightful Wrestling's podcast The List And Ya Boy, Dutt was asked about all of the changes over the years to Impact Wrestling and admitted he had seen a great deal of variance within the company but he said he wants to be a part of stabilizing the company.

"I guess it's ever changing here. I started in 2003 and I left full time in '09 and would come back here and there. So I've literally been there for every regime from day one. I've seen all the changes. I've seen ups. I've seen downs, the good and the bad. It's no secret right now it is a rebuilding phase to basically regain the consumer confidence that may have been lost through past regimes and past mistakes. I think that's the number one thing that we are trying to accomplish right now," said Dutt.

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp asked Dutt how becoming part of the creative team had changed his experience with Impact Wrestling. Dutt said he is willing to take on the challenge of being a wrestlers and part of the creative team.

"That is probably the biggest change. Where as 2003, I was 20 years old and a hungry young kid. Now, I am part of the creative team and trying to construct this show and steer it in the path we see fit. Balancing the two is something I am kind of used to. Five years ago is when I started to transition into more of an office role and whatnot. It is a struggle I guess; it is a balancing act. But it is something I do enjoy," said Dutt.

During the rest of the interview, Dutt discussed his career as an X-Division wrestler and who he believes is the future of that division.

On Sunday, Dutt will be participating in an Ultimate-X match at Impact Wrestling's Bound for Glory pay-per-view. Fightful Wrestling will be providing live coverage and a recapping podcast.

The List and Ya Boy airs Wednesdays at 3 pm EST and features interviews with wrestling personalities like Dutt and others.
