Exclusive: Sasha Banks Wasn’t Cleared For WWE Royal Rumble
Sasha Banks was conspicuous by her absense at the WWE Royal Rumble.
The former Women’s Champion didn’t participate in the annual battle royal, leaving many scratching their heads. However, shortly after we expressed that confusion ourselves, we heard from multiple people in the company that Banks has been sidelined with an injury. As reported exclusively on Fightful Select during the WWE Royal Rumble, Banks was not cleared for in-ring action for the show.
Banks hasn’t wrestled at all since a Friday Night Smackdown match on January 3 that saw her team with Bayley against Dana Brooke & Lacey Evans, and Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss. She’s twice been advertised to face Lacey Evans on Smackdown, but both matches ended up getting pulled and Banks hasn’t been involved in any physical angles during either week.
