Exclusive: Pentagon Jr. Talks Wrestling Austin Aries And Fenix, Changing His Ring Name Multiple Times
When it comes to wrestling in major triple threat matches, Pentagon Jr. said he's always prepared.
Pentagon Jr. spoke with Fightful on a number of different topics, including wrestling Austin Aries and Fenix. The two faced off against one another on the April 6 Impact Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground event with Pentagon Jr. picking up the win. With the three of them getting ready to face off once more for the Impact title at the Redemption pay-per-view on April 22, Pentagon Jr. said the high quality of the April 6 match is what caused Impact officials to make that match again for the title and that he's ready to win the title.
"It's a match that I'm prepared to do and always prepared to do. I've had this type of match many times throughout my career. I tell you, I'm ready to win the Impact title… All three of us left it all in the ring [on the Impact vs. Lucha Underground event] and I think that was something the people in charge of Impact saw and liked and that’s why they made this match official for this event," Pentagon Jr. said.
One of the notable changes in Pentagon Jr.'s career in the last few years are the various different names that he uses. From Pentagon Jr. to Pentagon Dark to Penta El 0M, the current Lucha Underground champion doesn't really pay much attention to what name he uses because it's still the same wrestler competing in the ring.
"[Regardless of what name I use], I'm still the same person in the ring. I still wrestle the same style and the fans know who exactly I am. I've always been received well, so the name is not that important [because it's still me]," Pentagon Jr. said.
The full interview can be listened in Spanish in the video above. For non-Spanish speakers, Fightful has provided several articles in English on the interview including Pentagon Jr.'s thoughts on the Impact-Lucha Underground relationship, if WWE has contacted him, his match at the Redemption pay-per-view and what to expect in the fourth season of Lucha Underground.
