EVOLVE Makes Title Change

Zack Sabre, Jr. is the new EVOLVE Champion, defeating Timothy Thatcher on Saturday night in the main event of EVOLVE 79.

The crowd in New York City was firmly behind Sabre, and against Thatcher, for the entirety of a match that lasted over 20 minutes and featured a bevy of hard-hitting strikes, counters, and submission wrestling.

It's one of the biggest wins for Sabre, who also is the current PWG World Champion. Other feats of Sabre include advancing to the semifinals of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic, and two reigns as a GHC Junior Tag champ in Pro Wrestling NOAH.

Sabre also is set to make his New Japan Pro Wrestling debut next month and challenge Katsuyori Shibata for the Revolution Pro Title.

Sabre will defend his EVOLVE Title March 30 at EVOLVE 80 in Orlando against ACH.

Sabre becomes the fifth EVOLVE Champion. Thatcher, meanwhile, sees his reign end after 596 days.
