Ethan Page Calls Out AAW For Telling Wrestlers They Can’t Work For Other Promotions; AAW Responds
Ethan Page is putting AAW on blast.
Earlier this afternoon, Ethan Page took to social media put out a public service announcement, letting wrestlers know that it’s okay to take multiple bookings as long as you’re not under an exclusive contract to a certain promotion.
Hey. You know it’s okay to wrestle for multiple companies in same city right?
Unless you signed an agreement/contract that states otherwise
Don’t let someone else dictate where you work, unless they’re willing to pay for exclusivity
Own yourself. Don’t sell out for fake hype.

Instead of subtweeting, Page called out the promotion in question directly.
Oh. This is 100% about @AAWPro telling ppl they can’t work @BLabelPro @FreelanceWres & @WarriorWrstlng
Whatever. Get over it. IDGAF anymore. https://t.co/W8VrAkDuKs

I’ve also given AAW the option to cancel me on their Texas event May 31.
They’ve announced me already so I’ll honor the date.
But I couldn’t care less working for them at this point.
When can we take the power back for the guys & girls in wrestling ????

AAW co-owner Danny Daniels put out the following series of statements, responding to the claims of Page.
There’s been a lot of chatter about how Aaw runs their business. I don’t force anyone to work for me. We don’t have the finances to offer contracts so how would that be even possible? But since it’s our money on the line, we should be able to pick who works for us right?

It’s our choice to not use talent who work in the area. Do I want the best talent to work for AAW? Of course because our fans demand it. But we have to be wise that everyone on the roster is worth taking the financial risk on. Trying to be different is the goal.

“I don’t tell people where to work. But as a business owner, I do choose to not use people that work in the area. I owe that to our fans who pay for tickets and are expecting a special show.
Other groups run the same building, or a half hour away so what makes AAW different from the rest? It starts with who we put on the shows. Why am I going to bring in a talent and pay their rate, travel, hotel if they are going to be (in) the area the following week or next day. That would be a silly investment right?
In an area that is so over saturated with pro wrestling, I try to book talent that are unique to the area to present a product (that’s) different from the pack. I’m not forcing anyone to work for me, that’s the talent’s choice that contact me looking for work. I let them know ahead of time though that I don’t use talent that works in the area.
Some agree to it, some don’t. (That) decision is up to them at the end of the day. First and foremost, this is a business. It’s our money on the line, our families money on the line. We all have real jobs so AAW is just a passion to run the best company that we can possibly run. If this loses money, we shut down because it’s not fair to our families that our passion is hurting them.”
This is my official statement that I sent to a few wrestling websites that asked about @AAWPro booking policy. This is my final statement on it. If you want to chat about it privately, my DMs are open pic.twitter.com/BFQwJ3tjss
