‘Escape Plan: The Extractors’ Trailer Highlights a Returning Dave Bautista
Lionsgate has released a teaser trailer (seen above) for their upcoming direct-to-video action thriller, Escape Plan: The Extractors.
Back to complete one of Hollywood’s most unlikely trilogies are Sylvester Stallone, Dave Bautista, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. The fifty-second teaser reintroduces their characters and sets up a daring Latvian prison rescue mission. The film will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, Escape Plan 2: Hades, and play theatrically in Russia.
The franchises original film, which co-starred WWE Hall of Famer Arnold Schwarzenegger, received mixed reviews while grossing $137 million worldwide.
Here’s the official synopsis for Escape Plan: The Extractors:
After security expert Ray Breslin (Stallone) is hired to rescue the kidnapped daughter of a Hong Kong tech mogul from a formidable Latvian prison, Breslin’s girlfriend (Jaime King) is also captured. Now he and his team, which includes Dave Bautista and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, must pull off a deadly rescue mission to confront their sadistic foe and save the hostages before time runs out.
Per /Film, Escape Plan: The Extractors will arrive on Digital 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray Combo Pack (plus DVD and Digital), and DVD on July 2. This home media release “will include an audio commentary with director John Herzfeld, Sylvester Stallone, Devon Sawa, and Daniel Bernhardt as well as the featurette ‘The Making of Escape Plan: The Extractors,’ which features never-before-seen cast and crew interviews that explain what it took to make this white-knuckle film.”
Dave Bautista can be seen in theatres this summer when he stars in both Stuber (July 12) and My Spy (August 23).
