Eric Bischoff Says Recent WWE Releases Have Potential To Be Signed By AEW; Praises Heath Slater

Eric Bischoff has high hopes for the talent released by WWE on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

A little over a month out from a day where multiple Superstars were cut by WWE in the name of cost-effectiveness due to the coronavirus pandemic, many are still awaiting the future of these names that were cut.

Recently, former WWE SmackDown Executive Director, Eric Bischoff spoke on After 83 Weeks as to who he thinks, from the list of recently released talents, could be a valuable commodity to other fledgling promotions.

“No, I think any of them could. They all have the potential. Look, they were with the greatest show on earth. I mean, there is nothing bigger in this industry than WWE and many of them had a long tenure there. So they’ve obviously learned a lot,” Eric began. “They’ve got great talent. They’ve got tons of potential. They’re established characters. They have a certain brand equity, which means any or all of them could easily end up somewhere. I think a few of the guys probably have a little bit more of an edge than others. Guys who have been used most recently at a high level, like Eric Rowan, for example, Rusev is another example. There are others.”

He continued, “Heath Slater, I think, is a guy that can probably end up wherever he wants and so are other talents that got let go. I wouldn’t be surprised to see any of them show up on AEW, or Ring of Honor, or IMPACT, or NWA. So, they’ve all got the same potential. They’ve all got potential, some a little bit more than others just because they’ve been used more recently at a higher level.”
