Ember Moon Wants To Become The First Dual Women’s Champion In NXT History
Ember Moon is hungry for gold.
Speaking at the global press conference ahead of NXT TakeOver: In Your House, Moon responded to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp by saying that she still has aspirations in the tag team division despite challenging this weekend for the Women’s Championship. Here is what she said:
“First and foremost, I just want to say that I’m not looking past Raquel right now. My first goal is to win the NXT Women’s Championship. When Shotzi’s better, of course, we’re going to go after those tag titles because mama’s hungry for some gold. I told you that before and I’ll tell you that again. I’m here to make history, and I want to be the first woman that has the NXT Women’s Championship around my waist and also the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship around my waist. That’s what we do.”

Shotzi Blackheart hasn’t been on NXT television since she was taken out by Raquel Gonzalez on the May 25 episode of NXT. Blackheart and Ember Moon were victorious over NXT Women’s Champion Gonzalez and Dakota Kai in tag team action on that night. Following the bout, Gonzalez decimated Blackheart, tossing her into the plexiglass at ringside while Kai forced Ember to watch.
It is unknown what kind of injury Blackheart is dealing with or if it is part of a storyline.
Moon has remained on television, seeking revenge for her fallen partner. Moon will challenge Gonzalez for the NXT Women’s Championship on Sunday at NXT TakeOver: In Your House.
Fightful will have live coverage of the event on that day beginning at 4 p.m. PST.
