Elias: I Need A Feud With John Cena Or Undertaker, No One On The Main Roster Gets Me At That Level

Elias is looking for a legend.

This Sunday at WrestleMania 35, Elias is set to headline the show…as a musical performer. While Elias has been a featured player on WWE television for over year, he’s done so without having many high-profile matches. Elias is more known for his ability to draw heat with his guitar than his in-ring performances. Over the last year, Elias has feuded against the likes of Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, and even Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett. But he is searching for something more.

Speaking to Busted Open Radio, Elias was asked what feud he needs to potentially get him to the next level.

“It’s going to sound kind of crazy, but Elias is such a character in a day and age where I feel like we’ve got a lot of wrestlers,” said Elias. “I’m not saying one thing’s better than the other, but for me, I think a big character, like a John Cena — a feud with John Cena would be fantastic. A feud with The Undertaker would be fantastic. I know I’m putting myself in the realm of these guys, who obviously have this legendary status. But that is the thing I need. On the main roster right now, I’m not sure there’s anybody that gets me at that level.”

At last year’s WrestleMania, Elias interrupted John Cena, who was waiting on The Undertaker to show up. Cena quickly dispatched of Elias at the event.

Given that Elias rarely makes it through a performance without someone interrupting, there’s a good chance he won’t be able to perform the full version of his latest single on Sunday.
