Edge Says Roman Reigns Is Samoan Edge

Edge drew some uncanny parallels between himself and Roman Reigns.

On the April 9 edition of Smackdown, Edge came to the ring with a chair and addressed his WrestleMania opponents and his frustration with the way he has been treated since he won the Royal Rumble in January. He called Daniel Bryan an indie book store clerk and troll who is stealing his spotlight. Edge also attacked the fans, saying that they’re lemmings who chant “Yes” the same way they used to chant “What?”

The Rated-R Superstar then took aim at the Universal Champion, arguing that he isn’t responsible for anything that he claims to have built. Edge then runs down how they both debuted in a group of three, made their entrances through the crowd, and use a spear as their finishing move. “You’re Samoan Edge,” he exclaimed.

Edge concluded by talking about how his match on Night Two of WrestleMania will be the ten-year anniversary of the emotional speech he delivered on Raw where he revealed his injury status, subsequently forcing him into retirement. He is upset, however, that there has been no mention of it or videos online. Furthermore, Edge believes that if this was Daniel Bryan, the company would have been promoting it ad nauseam.

Daniel Bryan came out at the start of the show and gave a similar, if not slightly more positively impassioned speech.
