Edge Says Bret Hart Cracked The Door To WWE Open For Him Following 1992 Talk Show Appearance
Edge was treated to some nearly twenty-year-old footage that he thought was lost forever.
On October 22, a clip of a 19-year-old Edge (Adam Copeland) made the rounds online. Appearing on The Dini Petty Show in 1992, Edge asked Bret Hart how he could break into the WWE. The Hitman didn’t have an exact answer, suggesting that he work wherever he can (ideally on TV) and gain as much experience as possible. He also noted how he had the door opened for him because he had worked for his father’s promotion.

Edge reacted to the footage, saying that Bret found him after the show and apologized for not giving him more advice.
Thought this footage was lost.After the show Bret found me and apologized for not being able to give me more advice. Copeland made his WWE debut in 1996, wrestling Bob Holly on a house show. During a recent interview, Jim Ross stated that Edge and Christian were paid $210 per week when they first started performing for the company.
Edge trained under Bret at the Hart Dungeon in 1997 while The Hitman was home nursing an injury. He was signed to a developmental deal shortly thereafter, kicking off a Hall of Fame career with the WWE.
Edge currently performs on the Raw brand for WWE. On October 21, he defeated Seth Rollins in a Hell In A Cell match at the Crown Jewel event.
