Eddie Kingston On Teaming With Claudio Castagnoli: I Don’t Like It, I Don’t Trust The Guy
Claudio Castagnoli became the newest member of the AEW roster at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door when he was introduced as Bryan Danielson’s replacement against Zack Sabre Jr.
Not only did Castagnoli join AEW, but he joined the Blackpool Combat Club and will replace Danielson in the Blood & Guts match on Wednesday against the Jericho Appreciation Society. Replacing Danielson means teaming with Eddie Kingston, who he has a long and contentious history with.
Kingston isn’t happy about it.
“Of course I didn’t like it. I don’t trust the guy,” Kingston said in an interview with MLive. “And people who say whatever they want to say about me, that I’m a hothead and I don’t let things go. I just know when I see bad people, I like to call him out on it.”
Kingston and Claudio could be seen yelling at each other as Forbidden Door came to a close on Sunday.
As far as Kingston’s role in Blood & Guts, he’s going to use the cage to his advantage.
“You’re not gonna see me come off the top of the cage,” Kingston said. “I’m gonna use the cage as a weapon. I’m going to kick, I’m going to punch, I’m going to bite. I’m going to try and make you quit. It’s called ‘Blood & Guts’ for a reason. Is there gonna be blood? Most likely. Is there going to be guts? You know, we’re going to spill our guts out there in front of all y’all. It’s just a violent place (the cage) and Detroit is a violent city, so it’s just perfect.”
Along with Claudio, Kingston will be fighting alongside Jon Moxley, Santana, & Ortiz as they battle Chris Jericho, 2point0, Jake Hager, & Daniel Garcia.
Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite Blood & Guts beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
