Eddie Kingston Says Jon Moxley Thinks He’s The Heartthrob Of Their Team
Eddie Kingston says he’s never been called a heartthrob.
During a recent appearance on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, The Mad King was introduced [per the request of the individual who set up the interview] as “the biggest heartthrob on television.” Kingston laughed at the notion and said that even though that’s not a descriptor he’s used to, he has hung out with dudes who were considered pretty boys.
“I have never been called that in my life. I’ve hung out with the dudes in the neighborhood who were considered pretty boys so I could pick up their scraps after the bar, but I was never the pretty boy type,” he said.
He continued on, suggesting that Jon Moxley would be upset to hear him called a heartthrob, as he has always considered himself the heartthrob of their team.
“You know Mox is going to hate that by the way [me being called the biggest heartthrob on TV]. Mox is really going to hate that you’re calling me that because he thinks that he’s the heartthrob of the team and I’m just absolutely not,” Kingston said.
Eddie and Moxley began teaming together in March 2021 and have compiled an 11-1 record in AEW.
Co-host Lars Frederiksen then shared a story of being backstage at an AEW show and wanting to have Moxley sign his book, but he disappeared before he could do so. This promoted Kingston to share that Moxley is always vanishing, even having to tell his friend that he isn’t Batman.
“That’s what he always does [disappears]. He always disappears on me and then the next thing you know I get a text, ‘Where are you?’ I write back to him all the time, ‘I was right next to you, why did you leave?’ Or I’ll text him and go, ‘You’re not — Batman’s not real. You’re not Batman. Stop!” he said.
Wrapping up, Kingston said that sometimes Moxley will be home before the shows have ended, defying the laws of time in the process.
“Yo, that’s gonna be rough [trying to get your book signed] because my man disappears. I’ll be like, ‘Where are you? He’ll be like, ‘I’m home.’ ‘How’d you get home? That’s a 6-hour flight. How did you get home? The show’s still going, how are you home?’ Don’t ask me how he does it, he just does. ‘I’m home with the baby.’ ‘What do you mean? I saw you two hours ago.’ He thinks he’s Batman,” he laughed.
Elsewhere during the interview, Eddie said that he would love to have Cesaro in AEW so that he can smack the shit out of him. Click here to read more.
