Drew McIntyre Says He Would Have A Panic Attack Over Last Second Changes Back In The Day

Drew McIntyre is a lot more comfortable on the microphone now than he was during his first run in the company.

McIntyre has often stated how his release from WWE in 2014 was the best thing to happen to him as it allowed him to discover himself while on the Independent scene.

Now, McIntyre is more comfortable than ever and scripts no longer bother him the way they once did.

“I’m more relaxed and in the moment. The Undertaker told me back in the day, ‘Stop playing the wrestler, be the wrestler.’ I’m finally being the wrestler and being in the moment and fans are responding. It was the journey outside the company that helped me get to where I’m at today in being relaxed and being myself. There are times when things change at the last second like interviews. These days it doesn’t affect me at all. Back in the day, I would have a panic attack. I see actors from Hollywood at our shows that are handed a script at the last second, ‘How do you learn this?’ ‘Just go with the flow.’ Now, I’m so confident to go out there and do it within the confines of the story because I am being myself,” McIntyre told Sam Roberts on NotSam Wrestling.

McIntyre is so comfortable with last second changes that he wishes WWE would do more of them, similar to the quick audibles the company had to call during the WrestleMania 37 rain delay.
