Drew McIntyre Says He’d Smash “Colby Covington’s Head In” In A Bar Fight
Drew McIntyre is willing to fight Colby Covington in a bar and “smash his head in” all in the name of bringing more eyes to the WWE product.
Speaking to ESPN, Drew McIntyre responded to Colby Covington appearing on a radio show saying that he would be willing to fight Drew McIntyre, but WWE wouldn’t sanction the fight.
When asked about Covington by Arda Ocal, the former Kyle Edwards in WWE, Drew McIntyre said he beat Brock Lesnar and 5 minutes in the WWE universe and doesn’t think Colby Covington would last long in an MMA fight with Brock Lesnar. That being said, he’d be willing to meet him in a bar and throw down, predicting great results for himself.
“How would he do in an MMA fight with Brock Lesnar? Probably not very good,” McIntyre began. “So if he wants this unsanctioned fight outside of WWE, I’m willing to fight him in a bar or something. There’s a reason there’s different weight classes [in MMA]. I’m about 100 pounds heavier than the guy, I’m a foot taller than the guy. I’m willing to have an actual fight with him if he wants an unsanctioned fight. It’ll put more eyes on the [WWE] product, perfectly happy with me. I’ll smash his head in. I’ll shut him up. I’ll break his jaw like Usman did, and then more people watch WWE. So, Colby, I’ll fight you, mate. No title shot though, that’s reserved for WWE Superstars.”
Another person in the Combat Sports world challenging Drew McIntyre is Tyson Fury. Unlike Colby Covington, Fury has experience in a WWE setting. Fury continued to stir the pot in a recent Instagram live video. Learn more at this link.
