Drew McIntyre: Heath Slater Winning The Universal Title Is The Final Piece Of The 3MB Takeover
Now that Drew McIntyre is the WWE Champion, there is only one member of the old 3MB stable that has yet to win a world title in WWE: Heath Slater.
Back in 2017, Jinder Mahal held the WWE Championship from May to November of that year and at WrestleMania 36 on April 5, McIntyre defeated Brock Lesnar to win the WWE title. With those two title reigns under their belts, that leaves Slater as the only one still yet to accomplish that feat and McIntyre implores Slater on a recent episode of WWE’s The Bump to get in the gym and return to WWE television in a few months to win the Universal title.
The current Universal champion is Braun Strowman, who won the title when he defeated Goldberg on the first night of WrestleMania 36 on April 4.
“In three months, you better be jacked and win that Universal title off Braun and then the 3MB takeover is complete. It was all part of our master plan. You’re the final piece,” McIntyre said.
Slater, who hasn’t wrestled since February, would then playfully chastise McIntyre for telling everyone of the supposed “Master Plan” that they had for all three members of the stable to win a world title in WWE.
“I can see it now, I can see it now. It’s what we all have been wanting right? It’s what the people want. They just don’t know [the master plan] and you just revealed it,” Slater said.
The video of their reunion can be seen at the top of the page.
