Drew McIntyre Calls Falling Off Hell In A Cell In 2020 The Worst Fall Of His Life, ‘I Thought I Broke My Neck’

Drew McIntyre is set to step inside Hell in a Cell for the third time in his career on Saturday when he faces CM Punk.

In 2020, he faced Randy Orton and found himself falling off the side of the cell, crashing through the announce table below.

“I thought I legitimately broke my neck and broke something in my back. I bit through my tongue,” McIntyre told Rick Ucchino of SI The Takedown. “I was spitting up blood, which we actually incorporated into the match. It was a cool visual. Legitimately the worst fall of my life. I’ve had these conversations with some of the other guys, like Seth Rollins. If we could both take back one thing in our career, it would be falling off [Hell in a Cell]. Never mind the stuff that happened inside the cell.”

McIntyre is 0-2 in Hell in a Cell match, losing to Orton in 2020 and Bobby Lashley in 2021.

Saturday will be CM Punk’s first Hell in a Cell match since 2013 when he defeated Ryback & Paul Heyman in a handicap match.
