Dreamer Says Dudleys Will Wrestle Again
Tommy Dreamer is confident — make that very confident — that his fellow ECW alumni the Dudley Boys are not through as professional wrestlers. Dreamer, in fact, believes that the Dudleys definitely will wrestle again.
“I will give you $1,000 if they never wrestle again,” Dreamer said while appearing on Wrestlezone Radio. “Trust me. They will wrestle again.”
The Dudleys, Bubba Ray and D-Von, bid farewell to WWE this past Monday on Raw. Their one-year contract had expired and while the two sides reportedly had come to terms on an extension, the tag team and company subsequently decided to part ways.
The Dudleys’ final appearance on Raw was preceded by several clips of their top highlights, and their farewell segment was one of the central parts of the episode of Raw. That segment culminated with The Club, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, putting D-Von through a table.
“I love the fact that happened,” Dreamer said of the Dudleys’ farewell. “For me, letting the WWE Universe say goodbye to the Dudleys was a great and classy move by the WWE.”
Not that long ago, it seemed like Dreamer was on the road back to WWE himself. His name was widely circulated as one of those the company was contacting to return in the wake of the renewed brand split. According to Dreamer, he received a contract offer but rejected it because it would affect his own promotion, House of Hardcore.
The Dudleys, currently free agents, are the only team to hold the WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, NWA and IWGP tag titles.
