Now that he is the winner of Group A, he will take on El Hijo Del Fantasma, the winner of Group B, in the tournament finals on the June 3 episode of NXT. The triple threat match was made as a result of Maverick, Kushida and Atlas all having a 2-1 record and a 1-1 record in head-to-head matches against each other.
The tournament began some time ago as a result of Jordan Devlin, the actual NXT Cruiserweight Champion, being unable to leave the United Kingdom and travel to the United States as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. There’s no word on when Devlin will return.
