Don Callis On IMPACT’s Move To Pursuit: People Are Going To See A Sexier, Edgier, Hardcore Product
Don Callis believes IMPACT Wrestling moving to Pursuit will lead to on-screen changes for the company.
On his latest Killing The Town podcast, Callis, who is the co-executive Vice President of IMPACT, discussed IMPACT Wrestling’s move from Pop TV to Pursuit. Last week it was announced that IMPACT will start on the Pursuit Channel beginning on Jan. 11. The show will air Fridays at 10 p.m. ET. The show currently airs on Pop TV on Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET.
“Pop TV was a great partner for us,” said Callis. “A lot of fans thought, ‘wow, you guys should be on a different network with a different demographic.’ We announced we’re moving to Pursuit, which is an exciting thing for me. When you talk about how you deal with your content as a company because our parent company, Anthem owns not only the Fight Network and Game TV, they also own a significant stake in Pursuit. It’s a great strategic move for us, and I think people are gonna love to see a sexier, edgier, maybe a little more hardcore Impact Wrestling. I’m really really pumped about that. I’m pretty excited.”
On his Wrestling Perspective podcast, Petey Williams also eluded to IMPACT’s product becoming “edgier” when they move to Pursuit. You can view Williams’ thoughts on IMPACT’s move here.
Fightful talked with Jimmy Jacobs, who gave his thoughts on the move as well. You can view that interview here.
