Dolph Ziggler Returns To WWE TV And Ambushes WWE Champion Kofi Kingston
“The Showoff” has returned to WWE TV.
WWE Champion Kofi Kingston picked up yet another victory on SmackDown Live when he defeated Sami Zayn in singles competition. Following the match, Brock Lesnar‘s advocate Paul Heyman came into camera’s view with the Money In The Bank contract teasing a cash-in. It was a distraction so that the returning former two-time World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler could ambush Kofi Kingston. Ziggler has not been on WWE programming since the 2019 Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Ziggler attacked Kingston and the final image deriving from his beat down on Kofi was Kofi getting off a stretcher to walk to the back on his own strength.

During an interview with 98.5 Inside The Ropes in March, Ziggler commented on his status with WWE and stated that he has had a handshake agreement with the company for quite sometime.
Technically, I am, yes. The last two years I’ve had somewhat of a handshake agreement, behind closed doors deal with WWE. I’ve been able to do a lot of things on my own, not WWE, just because of the relationship we’ve had over the last 14 years. I have a bit of a handshake agreement right now, but we’ll know some more details in the coming months.”
WWE’s next pay-per-view is Super ShowDown on June 7th in Saudi Arabia and following that is Stomping Grounds in Tacoma, Washington on June 23rd.
