Details On WWE Employee Meeting Following Vince McMahon’s Return
WWE held their employee meeting on January 6.
– The meeting was pushed back slightly from 3:30 PM EST, and got underway before 4 PM EST.
– Talent was not involved.
– There were no questions taken.
– It was stressed that day-to-day is not changing across the board.
– They spoke about Vince McMahon being the controlling shareholder and the possibility of a a sale, as well as the media rights deal.
– Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan and Frank Riddick led the meeting.
– It was noted that the sale could be a huge positive, and that they would be looking at potential sale offers before negotiating the rights fees. Vince McMahon will get final say. They said a sale might not happen, and the company could be taken private if there’s a sale. It was portrayed that this move was made to look at the market for to maximize rights fee deals and potential sale price.
– It was noted that potential buyers could be more interested in WWE as a property than just the product that we see.
– Michelle Wilson and George Barrios’ rehiring was mentioned as two people who helped sell WWE’s biggest rights fee deals.
– The meeting was said to have been very quick. We did hear of an interesting line from Stephanie we’re looking to learn more about.
Other notes
– Man Jit Singh resigned from the board. He was heading up the investigation into Vince McMahon. Jeffrey Speed was also a part of the investigation and was removed from the board. JoEllen Dillon was removed from the board but joined following the investigation.
– Vince McMahon was not at the Smackdown tapings or WWE HQ.
– It was reiterated to Fightful in an official WWE capacity that creative is not supposed to change as of now.
