Deonna Purrazzo Names AEW & IMPACT Wrestling As Her Preferred Destinations Following WWE Release
Deonna Purrazzo was one of the many talents released by WWE on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Now, she’s looking forward to the opportunity to prove that she could have been a valuable commodity to WWE by plying her trade elsewhere.
Recently, Deonna spoke with Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda and revealed that she would like to have an opportunity to enhance the women’s division of All Elite Wrestling, even saying that Britt Baker, the first woman signed to the promotion is her best friend.
Thanks to Gary Cassidy for passing along the following quotes to Fightful
“I guess, ideally, like, I haven’t been to AEW yet, so… Britt Baker is my best friend, she works there, they have a kick-ass women’s division now,” Deonna began. “It’s a lot of people I’ve never worked with, and it’s a brand-new product – so I would love to experience that and be part of it.”
Even if AEW isn’t hiring, Deonna looks forward to possibly going to IMPACT Wrestling. That brand has a strong Knockouts division and even has a female World Heavyweight Champion in Tessa Blanchard.
She continued, “That being said, if that’s not an option, IMPACT has an amazing women’s division right now. Tessa Blanchard has done some really cool things. Kylie Rae just signed there, Kiera’s there, Taya… There’s a really good group of girls that are doing some stuff that I would love to also be a part of. I don’t know. I would love to go back to Japan, I’d love to go to Australia again. If I could wrestle in England again, I love that. It’s like I would just love a shot at saying, ‘Screw you, WWE!’ [Deonna laughs] Really!”
